Anjanette Delgado
Anjanette Delgado (Santurce, 1967) escribe sobre sexilio, desarraigo y justicia social. Ganadora de un premio Emmy por su periodismo de interés humano, es autora de las novelas La píldora del mal amor (Atria, 2008) y La clarividente de la Calle Ocho (Penguin Random House, 2014). Ha escrito poesía, ficción y ensayos para el New York Times (Modern Love; Opinión), NPR, Kenyon Review, Prairie Schooner, Hostos Review (CUNY), Tupelo Quarterly, Women’s Review of Books y Distrópika, entre muchos otros. Editó la antología Home in Florida: Latinx Writers and the Literature of Uprootedness (University of Florida Press, 2021), que obtuvo la Medalla de Oro por ficción colectiva en los Latino International Book Awards 2022.
Anjanette se graduó en comunicaciones (COPU) de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Río Piedras, y posee una maestría en escritura creativa de la Universidad Internacional de la Florida. Su más reciente libro es El sexilio, publicado en Puerto Rico por la editorial LaCriba en el 2024.
Anjanette Delgado (born in Santurce in 1967) writes about sexilio, uprootedness, and social justice. An Emmy Award-winning journalist for human interest stories, she is the author of the novels La píldora del mal amor (Atria, 2008) and La clarividente de la Calle Ocho (Penguin Random House, 2014). Her poetry, fiction, and essays have appeared in the New York Times (Modern Love; Opinión), NPR, Kenyon Review, Prairie Schooner, Hostos Review (CUNY), Tupelo Quarterly, Women’s Review of Books, and Distrópika, among many others. She edited the anthology Home in Florida: Latinx Writers and the Literature of Uprootedness (University of Florida Press, 2021), which won the Gold Medal for Collective Fiction at the Latino International Book Awards 2022.
Anjanette earned her bachelor’s degree in communications (COPU) from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, and holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the Universidad Internacional de la Florida. Her most recent book is El sexilio, published in Puerto Rico by the independent publisher LaCriba in 2024.
